John The Baptist ~ A Swinger?

Hello faithful followers of My Bunny Trails!

As I asked God today to anoint my words to declare His praises and His goodness throughout the earth, this came to me.

Being a ‘John The Baptist’ like forerunner of the 21st century, I like so many others have found that being a prophetic voice to the church is like moving a battleship with a row boat!

 FUNNY>>>>>>(laughter inserted here…)

Though it seems difficult to get people to hear what you perceive as the Word of The Lord, you are not alone. Many who have gone before you have felt this way. Yes we prophets are like herding cats at times, for we tend to be independent and loners, for reasons that we all understand, but we love people too. God has given us a love for His body and we simply can not understand why they do not see things the way we do. It seems to take forever to get the message across.

Perhaps God has placed a sort of ‘Safety’ within the body of Christ. For I see the prophetic voice much like a pendulum calling and crying out on this end of the body to MOVE!

Then running around and crying out to the other end ~ MOVE! And between the pendulum swings we can perceive a balancing act or God slowly moving the body of Christ in a certain direction. All be it ~ WAY TOO SLOW FOR MOST OF US.

Let me give you an example.

Years ago, during the 1970’s and 1980’s, informal worship was very controversial and most main line churches were still using hymns on Sunday morning and most other services. But the Charismatic movement, also called the renewal movement, was singing away to guitar & piano music and loving it. We called them ‘Prayer-N-praise’ services then. Now we call them contemporary services.

And what used to be taboo is now the norm. It only took 30 or 40 years.

I found one of my favorite articles a few years back and it is about the new sound coming into the church and how horrible and blasphemous it is. There is no way they can accept this modern noise as worship. LOL. It was written about the organ.

So you see, not all new things are bad, but not all new things are good.

So how do we discern which is of God and which is not?

more later………….
